At Liquid Descent, one of the reasons we are in this business is to introduce young children and first-timers to Clear Creek whitewater rafting and get them hooked! Beginner boaters will enjoy the Colorado outdoors in summertime and feel true adventure on this splashy Class II/III rafting trip. The gradient of Clear Creek provides continuous rapids making it a step-up from a traditional beginner or float trip. During the trip, the crew will float by Idaho Springs’ historic Charles Taylor water wheel and spot possible wildlife along the way in between rapids such as “Mountain Lion”, “Dizzy Lizzy”, “Powerline”, and “Castle Falls”.

This trip is a perfect way for beginners to learn paddling techniques. By the end, the rafters will be pros at propelling themselves through the last rapid, “Mr. Twister”. At the takeout, they will be itching for an Intermediate trip in the future. Our hope is that guests will become lifelong appreciators of nature and its wilderness.

While visiting Colorado with a team of 50 high school youth for a mission trip, we booked a beginner's level rafting excursion with Liquid Descent. The staff did a phenomenal job at handling our large group in a smooth and relatively quick manner!  My raft's guide, Ryan, was knowledgable and a total sweetheart. He did a great job with preparing us for surprises and bumps during our ride, and he was skilled at keeping those of us who were beginners calm. I could have easily spent the day whitewater rafting!! I cannot wait to try it again!

We went w my family & 6yo daughter for her 1st time rafting. Andrew, our guide, was amazing & accommodating, knowledgeable, fun, & safe. I'll be requesting him next time! I booked online last minute & everyone I dealt with via phone & in person was friendly and courteous. We did the early morning 9am beginners bc of my daughter & we loved it. It was just our family & the photographer was the bomb, documenting our special day. I love how she took close ups, action shots, & some distance shots so we can really remember the beauty of the trip. We wished the rafting time was longer bc we liked it so much. They were accommodating to all of our wetsuit /splash guard/gear preferences & needs. I was glad to hv the booties. Easy commute from Denver area. Boats hv footholds, which is awesome & all the safety info was great, esp bc we had a young child with us. Can't say enough good things about it-highlight of our vacation! We hope to come back for intermediate next visit. Thanks to Andrew & our photographer! Liquid descent is great

My 9 yo daughter and I had a great experience with Liquid Descent. It was her first time rafting so we took the Clear Creak Beginner trip. She totally loved it. So much so she was asking to go again the same day 🙂 Our guide, Sydney, was awesome. The entire staff was super friendly. All of their gear is good and well maintained. The photos from the paddle were great. I'd take another trip with these guys for sure.
