About This Trip

The Clear Creek Advanced trip is the most intense commercial whitewater run close to Denver — and it's not for the faint of heart. Back-to-back Class IV rapids, powerful hydraulics, and technical moves make this a true challenge that will test your paddling, your nerve, and your trust in your guide.

This is the run that serious paddlers talk about. Named rapids like Guide Ejector, Hell's Corner, and Corkscrew aren't just scary names — they're real drops that demand your full attention and effort. Our expert guides know every line and will push you hard while doing everything they can to keep you as safe as possible.

Available as a half-day (3 hours, $100) or full day (5 hours, $150) for those who want the complete experience. The full day is best run in early June at peak flows. Lunch is included. It's genuinely one of the best days you can have on a river in Colorado.

Advanced Rafting FAQ

Do I need rafting experience?

Prior experience is recommended but not strictly required. What matters most is fitness, strong swimming ability, and a readiness for genuine Class IV whitewater. If it's your first time rafting, start with our Beginner or Intermediate trip.

What's the minimum age?

15 years old. This is a serious run, so participants need the size, strength, and maturity to handle Class IV water.

Do I need to be a strong swimmer?

Yes. This is the most intense commercial run near Denver, and strong swimming ability is required. Every guest wears a helmet and life jacket, and the trip includes an advanced safety briefing and swim instruction. We do everything we can to maximize safety.

What's the difference between the half day and full day?

The half day (3 hours, $100) runs the core Class IV section. The full day (5 hours, $150, lunch included) adds more river and is best in May–June at peak flows.

What should I wear and bring?

A swimsuit and secure footwear (no flip-flops or Crocs). Wetsuits, splash jackets, helmets, and PFDs are provided. Bring a towel and dry clothes for after.

When is the best time to go?

The full-day trip is best booked in May–June at high flows, when the river is at its biggest and most exciting.
