Located deep within the Tavaputs Plateau, Desolation Canyon is on of the most remote backcountry areas in Utah. Steep canyon walls with towering spires and abundant arches are spread through the region. Large beaches with giant cottonwood trees provide great campsites. Mild stretches of water offer many opportunities to swim and relax on the water. Desolation Canyon is a perfect canyon for enjoying inflatable kayaks. Enjoy the evening star shows in this very remote place, Desolation is known as the least light polluted area in the Lower ‘48’. The Canyon is full of rich history and remnants of the pre-modern Native Americans, this is truly a very special place!
