Cataract Canyon
The Cataract trip meets and returns to Grand Junction, Colorado. Cataract Canyon, located on the Colorado River southwest of Moab, Utah, is one of America’s most rugged and beautiful Canyons. Isolated in the southeast corner of Utah, Adventure Bound offers outstanding “big water” trips through outstanding and unique Canyonlands National Park. The first part of the trip will be spent relaxing and anticipating the upcoming excitement down river. Swim breaks and lots of suntan lotion flavor the start of your trip. Be prepared for a hearty riverside dinner and exciting campfire tales of the rapids of Cataract Canyon. As we reach the confluence of the Green and Colorado Rivers, in the heart of Canyonlands, we prepare for the colossal rapids of Cataract. We will be rafting some of the largest whitewater in America. This stretch is truly rugged and action packed. The peak season for the whitewater is May and June running incredible Class V whitewater, it moderates through the summer but remains action packed with Class III-IV rapids. The last segment of the trip consists of exploring the lower canyons of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area – Lake Powell.
