Colorado River

Enjoy one of the most famous rivers on the planet!

The Upper Colorado

This section of the Colorado River is located near Kremmling, Colorado and is close to popular summer destinations such as, Steamboat Springs, Summit County, Estes Park, Grand Lake and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Guest can experience the majestic Colorado River as it winds it way through the heart of the Rocky Mountains. The Upper Colorado River, which is the headwaters of this amazing legend, is truly unique in that it provides two very different rafting experiences within the same area. The Pumphouse section of the Upper Colorado River offers a class II float trip through a gorgeous wilderness canyon filled with wildlife, dramatic cliffs, and hot springs. Located upstream of Pumphouse, is Gore Canyon. Gore Canyon offers class V intense whitewater rafting through a remote canyon. It is deemed one of the most extreme commercially run sections of whitewater in the USA. Find out more about these trips below.

Reasons to go whitewater rafting on the Colorado River

  1. Scenic and remote- The Colorado River weaves through a remote canyon which makes it a perfect area to see wildlife. Bald eagles, river otters, beavers, deer, moose and bears have been spotted by our guests, as they float down this beautiful stretch of water.
  2. A great late season option- Since most Colorado rivers are fed by snowmelt, by the end of the summer, most rivers are unrunnable. The Colorado River is different as it is fed by dams releasing water for agriculture and other natural reasons. This is a perfect choice for getting one last adventure in before summer is over.
  3. Perfect for guests of all ages- Guests from 5-95 years old can enjoy rafting on the Upper Colorado River. With its class II-III rapids, this trip is a playful and scenic alternative to traditional whitewater rafting
  4. The Best Sinlge day rafting trip in the universe! In our opinion, Gore Canyon is the premiere class V rafting experience in the USA. Gore has it all: some of the most breathtaking scenery that Colorado has to offer. Huge rapids that are challenging, scary, dramatic and fun! Remote wilderness surroundings that will take you back to nature and show you who is in control.
