Upper Animas
The Upper Animas is one of the toughest commercially run rivers in the US with a steep drop of 85 feet per mile. River enthusiasts travel from around the world to raft this river. You will experience continuous Class III rapids with intermittent IV & V (big drops & violent rapids). There is no calm water on this trip! This is a beautiful wilderness whitewater experience! Our private camp is surrounded with towering 14,000 ft. mountain peaks that rise from the river banks. Guests will have a mandatory pre-trip orientation and physical fitness is recommended. Wetsuit and fleece are required (rentals available). Every Upper Animas adventure includes a ride on the Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad !
